China’s civil aviation transportation continues to increase in July 2023 amid strong summer travel demand. This was conveyed by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (Civil Aviation Administration of China / CAAC).
Total transportation turnover in the sector reached 11.37 billion tonnes last month, a 67.1 percent jump from last year and surpassing the level recorded in the same period in 2019 for the first time, CAAC said.
According to CAAC data, nearly 62.43 million air passenger trips were served in July, a jump of 83.7 percent year on year (yoy) and setting a new monthly record for the civil aviation sector.
Of the total air passenger trips last month, passenger trips on domestic routes reached around 59.08 million, up 12.1 percent compared to July 2019.
