Indonesian Taekwondo Athlete, Ni Kadek Heni, Wins Gold Medal at the Asian Championship


Indonesian taekwondo athlete Ni Kadek Heni succeeded in winning the gold medal in the women’s 49kg class at the 5th Combaxx Asian Open Taekwondo Championship 2023.

Indonesian taekwondo athlete Ni Kadek Heni succeeded in winning the gold medal in the women’s 49kg class at the 5th Combaxx Asian Open Taekwondo Championship 2023 which was held in Islamabad-Pakistan 1-5 November 2023. With her superior technique and agility, t Ni Kadek was the best of her rivals before beating the athlete from Nepal, Anjali Tamang with a score of 2-1 in a tense final. “I’m happy and proud to be able to contribute gold to Indonesia. Hopefully we can do more in future events,” said Ni Kadek Heni in a written statement in Jakarta, Saturday.

The gold medal in Pakistan was the third podium for the athlete from Bali this year after previously winning the Bulgarian Open in March and coming out as runner-up at the 2023 SEA Games in Phnom Penh. Meanwhile, the General Chair of the Indonesian Taekwondo Executive Board (PB TI), Lieutenant General TNI Richard Tampubolon congratulated and was proud of Ni Kadek Heni’s extraordinary achievements at the Asian Championships. “We still have some other potential because there are still Indonesian representatives competing and hopefully this achievement can spark enthusiasm for other Indonesian Taekwondoin so that Indonesia Raya can ring out loud in Pakistan,” said Richard.
